interesting stuff, Rick! dangerous, but interesting!
the first bunch of Dems have little to do with Obama's campaign... They are elected individuals and everyone knows certain Repubs were guilty as well. however, when you get to the important stuff later on in the video, Rep Shays asks why the cap is so low and Raines responds back with "the cap is low for FMs b/c housing is so strong" and then Rep Shays says, "fine". Not much of a fight there, in fact he seems to agree with Rep Raines because at the time it was! and now... McCain and other Republicans and MOST Democrats support bailing out the homeowners who took out bad loans [not to mention Wall St.] because eventually the housing market will rebound and make up these taxpayer losses.
so either what these guys said was all true and you're complaining about nothing or... McCain and Bush and Congress all know that it will never work yet they are willing to spend over a trillion dollars fixing it.
I can actually see your problem with Obama [although I disagree heartily] but both of you are smarter than to fall prey to propaganda like this. These edited Youtube videos are used to convince fools, not educated persons such as yourselves. This stuff is almost as bad as the Keating and Ayers accusations and frankly if this is the level of discourse in American politics I fear for our country no matter who gets elected.
The issue shouldn't be one party is blameless and the other is the answer. The issue is that lots of people made mistakes and EVERYONE should be held accountable instead of turning it into some tool for political gain. I feel the same way when Dems do it.
also VERY interesting about ACORN. I've read it before but again I don't see how you can tie this to only the Dems and more importantly to Obama. First you say he's inexperienced, then you say he's at fault. you can't have it both ways. you were either there and working on issues or you weren't.
Also, McCain LOVES deregulation in general and that is exactly what got us into this mess... you want more of that? to quote the LOLcats, "I haz confuze".
thewilson, Your replies to my posts assume much. I never mention either presidential candidate in my posts. I mentioned the democrats. Why? Because this is yet another case where their lack of trust in the individual American causes them to create bad policy. A policy that treats us like children instead of the free adults we are. A policy that has the government meddling places it does not belong: Picking winners and losers in the free market. And when this policy of the democrats backfires, Barack Hussein Obama jumps all over the opportunity to turn it into political gain by blaming it on the republicans.
You appear to love your democrat leaders, so you probably like having other people lie to you and make decisions for you. I for one do not like having other people do either of those things to me. The republicans are not perfect, no man is. However, they do currently align with the values I consider important. I will support the politicians that best align with my values.
Since you brought it up, I can have it bolt ways about Obama... He is inexperienced AND he is at fault. At fault for trying to undermine my freedoms.
One more thing: Why should EVERYONE be held accountable for the wrong doings of some? It seems to me that in a just society, the guilty should be held accountable for their crimes. What YOU propose is dangerous, and not the least bit interesting.
wow, I guess we both assumed way too much, Rick! I agree that the Obama campaign blamed the Reps and the McCain campaign blamed the Dems... pretty typical. When I said EVERYONE, I obviously meant everyone involved whereas you support blaming only certain members of a certain party. We should expect more from our leaders in general and for the record I am 100% independent and distrust the Dems as much as I distrust the Reps.

The democrats are habitual liars. They are totally incapable of truth.
Check out this youtube video, where house democrats deny over and over again that there is nothing wrong with the sub-prime market.
